It took a while to get going but the Hermon Hawks finally raced past Foxcroft 65-54 Thursday night to improve to 16-0.

The top seeded Hawks trailed the Ponies by three after one quarter but then a late second quarter run put them up by six at the half. Garrett Trask scored eight points in that quarter to lead the charge.

Then in the third quarter Cody Hawes got hot and scored 10 points and the Hawks extended the lead to 15.

Foxcroft's Hyatt Smith kept the Ponies in the game scoring 16 second half points and finishing with 20.

Hermon finished with four player in double-digit scoring. Keenan Marseille led with 14.

The Hawks are two wins away from an undefeated regular season with games vs Presque Isle and John Bapst.

Foxcroft is 7-8 and just outside the playoff picture but with MDI, Ellsworth and Orono left on the schedule, there are plenty of Heal Points available.
