Hermon’s Beaton Signs With UMaine

Hermon High School's Zach Beaton is one of the best all-around track & field athletes in Maine and after signing his National Letter of Intent Friday afternoon he will continue ti showcase his talents in Maine - at the Division One level for the UMaine Black Bears track & field program.

Beaton is a terrific jumper and hurdler and wants to do multiple events at the collegiate level.

He was the PVC Indoor and Outdoor Outstanding Performer and had state championship wins in both indoors and outdoors. The 55m, 100m and 300m hurdles, along with the high jump and triple jump.

Beaton has also been part of Hermon's two-time North Region champion cross country team.

With the pressure off deciding where to compete in college, Beaton says he wants to use his senior season at Hermon to break some of his own school records.
