The Husson University men's basketball team announced another commitment to the program on Wednesday and it was a name familiar to local area basketball fans.

The program received a commitment for Jarrod Chase, a forward from George Stevens Academy, to play for the Husson Eagles starting in 2017.  Chase was part of the two-time state championship program at GSA and also hit the game winning three-pointer against Winthrop to win the Class C crown this past February with 1.2 seconds left in the contest.

"Jarrod had a great career at GSA. He was a big part of two state championship teams,"  says head coach Warren Caruso in a statement released by the program. "Jarrod has a solid skill set and is a very good athlete.  We feel he has a good upside and will develop into a very good college player."

The forward averaged 14.8 points per game with the Eagles as a senior and helped guide GSA to a mark of 43-1 over the past two years.  He will join Justin Thompson (Schenck), along with three out-of-state recruits as part of the 2017 incoming class.

Husson finished with a 21-7 mark last season and lost to the eventual Division III champions Babson in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
