Speedway 95 in Hermon, Maine, is still trying to hold an opening day event, but Mother Nature is not cooperating with the racing season.

The race track had scheduled its opening night festivities back on Saturday, May 3, but that event was cancelled due to rain.

Those races were moved to May 10, but those too were cancelled ahead of time due to the weather forecast.

Speedway 95 also cancelled a test and tune and swap meet event that had been scheduled for Sunday, April 27, with the weather again being to blame for the disruption of the planned activities.

When is Opening Day Races at Speedway 95 in Hermon, Maine?

Opening day races have now been moved to Saturday, May 17 at 7 p.m., with a full card of racing scheduled.

However, the weather is again a concern.

As of Monday, May 12, the National Weather Service was saying that Saturday's forecast is looking mostly cloudy with showers likely.

According to the weather service, it's expected to be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers Saturday night.

The track announced the latest make-up date Sunday on social media.

"Let's try this again," the track said on Facebook. "$500 to win 50 Lap Street Stock! Double points for all Speedway Divisions."

In the post, Speedway 95 acknowledged that the weather is again threatening to postpone opening night activities:

"We are aware the weather is not looking good at this point for Saturday or Sunday. We will keep a eye on the weather this week and have a update later in the week."

According to the raceway, features will be as follows:

Tigers - 25 Laps
Limited Sportsman - 25 Laps
Ladies Acceleration Tour 20 Laps
Sport 4's - 25 Laps
Maine Outlaw Midgets - 15 Laps
Late Models - 30 Laps
Cage Runners - 25 Laps
Street Stocks - 50 Laps and $500 to Win
