Sacred Heart Rallies to Beat Maine 2-1 [PHOTOS]

The Sacred Heart Pioneers rallied from a goal down and scored twice within a minute and a half late in the 2nd Half to beat the Maine Black Bears on Sunday afternoon, August 23rd at the New Balance Soccer Complex.

Maine took a early 1-0 lead when Sandrine Brault scored the ball and scored her 1st collegiate goal with 8:27 gone in the game.

Maine led 1-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

Riley Pettigrew scored to tie the game , assisted by Lyndsey Laperie with 10:35 left to play.

Hannah Murphy gave Sacred Heart the lead with 9:02 left to play, assisted by Laperie and Elizabeth Kowlski.

Sacred Heart outshot Maine 10-6. Maine had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Elena Barenberg had 2 saves for Maine.

Sacred Heart improves to 3-0 while Maine drops to 1-2.

Maine returns to the pitch to play Merrimack at the New Balance Soccer Complex on Thursday, August 27th with the game beginning at 7 p.m.
