Two of Maine's best young amateur players will tee it up Thursday and go head-to-head for the Maine Match Play Golf Championship.

Camden's Cole Anderson (Samoset GC) and Bangor's Drew Powell (PVCC) have advanced to the finals - both winning four matches to get to the final. Falmouth CC is the host site for the tourney.

Anderson will soon start his senior year at Camden Hills. He plans to graduate in December and then head to Florida State on a golf scholarship.

Powell is a member of the Brown University golf team after playing golf at Bangor High School.

Interestingly enough, Anderson and Cole were paired with Jack Wyman last month in the final group in the final round at the Maine Amateur. Wyman won the title. Anderson finished runnerup and Powell finished fourth.
