Mayo Scores 15 In Loss To #11 Louisville
Former Messalonskee High School standout Nick Mayo led his Eastern Kentucky team with 15 points but the Colonels were no match for #11 Louisville. The Cardinals beat EKU 87-56 Saturday afternoon.
The 6-foot-9 Mayo filled the Colonels stat sheet with those 15 points, plus four rebounds, four assists and a block against Rick Pitino's team.
The loss drops EKU to 6-6.
Mayo, a sophomore, was the Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Year last year and his 18.9 PPG this year leads the team.
11th ranked Louisville is now 10-1.
EKU and Louisville have played 74 times over the years but Saturday's game was the first since 2004.
