Messo’s Mayo Scores 23 Vs Tennessee

Former Messalonskee High School standout Nick Mayo is 23 points closer to becoming the all-time scorer at Eastern Kentucky.

Mayo and the Colonels took on the #6 nationally ranked Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville last night. EKU lost 95-67 but Mayo filled up the stat sheet.

The 6-foot-9 senior from Maine scored 23 points, hauled down nine rebounds and dished three assists. Mayo was 10-for-10 from the foul line.

Mayo now has scored 1,755 points at EKU and 77 points away for moving into the #1 spot for career scoring.

Next on the schedule the (3-4) Colonels play High Point University on Saturday.
