MMA’s Newcomb Reaches 1,000 Points
Maine Maritime Academy senior guard Brendan Newcomb reached the 1,000 point mark Friday night in the Mariners 75-60 win at Lyndon State College in Vermont.
Newcomb, who played his high school ball for the Brewer Witches, scored 19 points. He now has 1,014 career points at MMA in 88 games.
Newcomb becomes the 12th MMA player to score 1,000 points. Jed Johnson (1999-2003) is the Mariners all-time leading scorer with 1,618 points.
The Friday night win improves MMA to 1-7 in the NAC and 2-13 overall.
