The season ended for both Husson University basketball teams Friday night after NCAA opening round road losses. The women's team falling at Amherst 66-45. The men's team losing at Williams 86-60.

Amherts 66  Husson Women 45: The Eagles took on the defending national champion and current #5/#6 ranked Mammoths in western Massachusetts. Senior Kenzie Worcester finished her brilliant career scoring 26 points but not enough to keep the season alive.

Sophomore Megan Peach added a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Hannah Fox scored 23 for Amherst and the Mammoths led by 11 after one quarter and by 20 at the half.

The Eagles shot just 25% from the field.

Worcester finishes her four year career at Husson with 1,869 points in 112 games.

The Eagles finish the season 19-9. Amherst advances to the regional final today with a 24-3 record.

Williams 86  Husson Men 60: The Eagles were right in the game, down just six points at the half, but the Ephs outscored Husson by 20 points in the second half.

DJ Bussey led the Eagles with 13 points. Senior Justin Martin finished his outstanding career with seven points and six rebounds.

The Ephs had three players in double digit scoring.

Husson finishes the season at 18-10. Williams moves on to the regional final today with a 21-6 record.
