Nick Boudreau of the Bangor hockey team was named First National Bank High School Athlete of the Week by the narrowest of margins, squeaking past Bailey Donovan of the Hampden girls basketball team.

Boudreau received 24.88 percent of the vote, while Donovan earned 24.39 percent.

The Bangor hockey standout tallied a hat trick in the annual Fill the Alfond game against arch-rival Brewer. He also assisted on a goal in last Saturday's 7-2 triumph, which improved Bangor to 6-0.

Boudreau and the Rams were scheduled to take on Old Town-Orono, also 6-0, at Sawyer Arena on Wednesday, but the game was moved to Monday due to inclement weather.

Donovan, MVP of last season's Class A North tournament, finished second in Athlete of the Week voting after posting 15 points in last week's 52-28 win over Nokomis.

Other nominees this week included Isaac Varney of Hermon, Damien Vance of Bangor, Hannah Chamberlain of MDI and Marcus Christopher of Skowhegan.

Bangor's Matt Fleming and Orono's Connor Robertson have also won Athlete of the Week honors during the 2018-19 winter sports season.
