The Old Town Coyotes defeated the Hermon Hawks 40-37 on Friday night at Old Town High School, Hermon's first loss of the season.

The Coyotes were led by sophomore guard Hannah Richards and freshman guard/forward Lexi Thibodeau, both of whom scored 12 points.

Junior forward Grace Page scored a game-high 15 points, while senior forward Caitlin Tracy chipped in 8 points for the Hawks.

Hermon led 11-8 after the first quarter, but Old Town outscored the Hawks 14-7 in the second quarter and played with a lead for much of the second half. The Hawks took the game's final shot, a straightaway three at the buzzer that didn't go down, giving the Coyotes the victory.

Old Town avenged a 49-34 loss to Hermon on Dec. 27. The Coyotes, who entered the night sitting in fourth place in the B North heal point standings, have won 6 of their last 7 games.

Hermon suffered their first loss of the season and dropped to 12-1.
