Last week it was all about the gridiron, but for this week's McDonald's High School Athlete of the Week, we have some stellar performances on the cross-country course and the soccer field as well.

After four days of voting, ticket listeners awarded this week's High School Athlete of the Week to Dylan Severance of the Brewer Witches.

Severance had his best game of the season rushing for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns in a win over Gardiner. The senior running back has rushed for nearly 350 yards in three games to help the Witches get off to a 3-0 record to start the season.

Severance was up against some stiff competition from the likes of Orono High School's Tia Tardy and Bangor High's Emily Gilmore.

Tardy helped the Orono Red Riots cross-country team to a PVC win in a 5-team meet. Not only did Tardy win the event, but she also set the course record with a time of 17:56:59. The junior led the Riots team that took the top 5 spots in the meet.

Gilmore posted two shutouts last week adding to her season total of 5 to help the Rams improve to 6-0 this year. In those six games Gilmore has made 40 saves including 2 on penalty kicks.

The final results are below.
