Mark Plummer is now a three-time winner of the Maine State Golf Association Senior Player of the Year honor. The award began in 2012.

Plummer racked up 380 MSGA points playing in weekly tournament and state championships for the golf year starting September 1, 2016 and ending August 31st this year. Golfers age 55 and older are eligible for the award.

Fellow Augusta Country Club player Thomas Bean was runner up with 310 points.

Plummer won his fifth Maine Senior Amateur title last month, he was part of the Senior Club Team Championship four player winning team and he finished in the top three of every MSGA weekly tourney he entered. Plummer also finished eighth at the Maine Open Tournament.

Plummer has had one of the most storied golf careers in Maine. A state junior champion, 13 Maine Amateur titles, four Mid-Amateur titles, and has won at least one championship in every catagory MSGA offers
