
RedHawks Outlast Black Bears
The UMaine hockey team wound up on the wrong end of a 7-5 wild one at Alfond Arena Friday night. Miami of Ohio beat the Bears 7-5.
The (1-2) RedHawks scored four poweplay goals, including two of the their first three goals to grab a 3-0.
The Black Bears got back within a goal twice in the second period on a couple of Mitch Fossier goals but could never pull even.
Miami score three consecutive goals, late in the 2nd period and early 3rd to take a 7-3.
Two late Maine goals made the final score look better but the Black Bears fall to 1-2 with another game vs the RedHawks tonight.
Maine goalies Rob McGovern and Jeremy Swayman saw 31 shots.
