Bangor golfer Jesse Speirs turned in one of his best tournament finishes on the PGA Tour Series-China, finishing in a tie for 26th place at the Suzhou Open.

Speirs shot a score of 6-under par 282 for the four rounds

The winner, Canadian golfer Richard Jung, shot a tourney total of 21-under par.

The Suzhou Open was the 10th of the 14 tourney events on the China Tour.

Speirs is now in 73rd place in the series with his best finish a tie for 16th place.

The leader of the Tour Series is American golfer Charlie Saxon.

The top five players at the end of the season will earn automatic exemption to play on the PGA Web.com Tour which is the entry to the PGA Tour.

There are two more tournaments in China in September and then the final two events are in October.

NOTE: Speirs is a former Maine Junior Amateur and Maine Amateur champion. He also scored a win at the Greater Bangor Open...He had partial exemption on the PGA Web.com Tour two years ago.
