One person is dead and three injured following a two-car crash yesterday. Police believe the man who was killed may have stepped out of the vehicle just before it was hit. Late afternoon sunlight that hampered visibility may have been a contributing factor.

According to ABC 7,  the crash happened just after four o'clock Tuesday afternoon on Route 157 in Millinocket, near Huber Road. Millinocket Police say a Nissan Pathfinder ran into the back of a Dodge Caliber, that was parked on the side of the road, killing 59-year-old Leslie Morgridge. Police Chief Steven Kenyon told FoxBangor that it appears Morgridge pulled over to the side of the road and may have stepped outside the vehicle when it was struck from behind.

The female driver in the other vehicle, her young daughter, and a woman who was riding with Morgridge were all taken to the hospital to be checked out. Kenyon says the sun can get very strong that time of afternoon and caused the woman to be blinded briefly so that she didn't see the other vehicle until it was too late.
