UMaine football’s next opponent will be a tough test as the James Madison Dukes again received the top ranking in all of FCS Football on Monday's STATS FCS Top 25 Poll.

The Dukes are currently 3-0 on the season, besting FBS East Carolina to start the season (34-14 win) and then beating East Tennessee State 52-10, and this past weekend against Norfolk State with a 75-14 victory.  They stayed at the the top of the poll again with 156 first place votes out of a total 163.  The Dukes were also the top team in the Coaches Poll with 25 of the total 26 top votes.  They have been in the first spot for the entire season and pre-season so far.

James Madison is the reigning FCS National Champion and was selected as the top team in the CAA for the Coaches Poll before the season.  The Black Bears hosted the Dukes in Week 4 last season, and ultimately fell by a score of 31-20 at Alfond Stadium.

UMaine is currently 1-1 on the season after losing in the opener to New Hampshire and beating Bryant in the first home game of the season.  The Black Bears will enter the match-up on the road versus James Madison after having their bye week.  Maine received 20 votes in the poll that was released on Monday.
