Witches Beat Rams, Move Into #1 Spot
The Brewer Witches took advantage of five Bangor errors and beat the Rams 3-1 in the regular season finale for both teams.
The victory moves Brewer into the #1 spot in Class A North. Bangor falls down to the #4 spot.
A good pitching duel between Jack Corey and Peter Kemble but the Witches took advantage of Ram errors to score three unearned runs.
One run in the third inning, after two errors a Kobe Rogerson sac fly scored a run. In the fourth inning, a Jard Austin single drove in a run. And, in the fifth inning, a walk and error led to another run.
Corey pitched 6.2 innings, allowing just four hits. He struck out seven. Alex Brooks got the last out and a save.
Bangor's Kemble went the distance giving up eight hits and striking out seven.
Brewer finishes the regular season at 13-3, Bangor 12-4.

NOTE: On the high school softball scene, Brewer beat Bangor 9-6. The Witches finish the regular season with a 10-6 record while the Rams finish 11-5. With a couple of Class A North games still to be played, Bangor is is third place and Brewer is in fifth place.
