
5 First Period Goals, Bears Beat RedHawks
The UMaine Black Bears got a split of their weekend series with Miami of Ohio, scoring five goals in the first period and beating the RedHawks 6-3 Saturday night.
While six different players scored goals, freshman goalie Jeremy Swayman stopped 27 shots to get his first collegiate win.
The Bears are now 2-2 while the RedHawks drop to 1-3.
Maine hosts Minnesota-Duluth next weekend before beginning Hockey East league play.
