8 Of 16 Teams In NCAA From New England

Can there be any question that New England is college hockey's hotbed this year? Consider this - half of the field in the NCAA tournament are New England teams.

That's 8 of  16 teams in the field.

Defending champions Providence, Hockey East tourney champ Northeastern, there's fellow HE teams Boston College, UMass Lowell and Boston Univeristy.

From the ECAC there is top seed Quinnipiac, Yale and Harvard.

The regionals start today with two games in Worcester, Massachusetts and two games in Cincinnati, Ohio.
