Maine golfers Staci Creech and Cole Anderson are competing on the national stage today. Creech at the U.S. Mid-Amateur qualifier and Anderson at the American Junior Golf Association championship

132 of the best junior golfers across the world begin are playing at Sugarloaf today through Thursday for the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) championship.

It's the 5th year for this tournament at Sugarloaf. The AJGA works to showcase junior golfers as they aspire to earn college golf scholarships. Coca-Cola is the presenting sponsor of the tournament.

Boys and girls, age 12-19 can qualify for the AJGA event.

Meanwhile, three-time Maine Women's Amateur champ Staci Creech from Bangor competes today at the U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifier in Massachusetts.

The USGA Women's Mid-Amateur is for players over 25-years-old. 132 players will qualify from around the country for the national tournament in Florida in October.
