UMaine football coach Joe Harasymiak says starting quarterback Chris Ferguson remains day-to-day with a shoulder injury and in the meantime backup Isaiah Robinson is taking most of the practice snaps.

"There's no dislocation, no separation, just sore," said Harasymiak after Tuesday morning practice. " We're taking it day-to-day and just have to get his strength back in it."

Ferguson left in the first quarter of Saturday's 17-5 loss at Central Michigan. The redshirt freshman Isaiah Robinson replaced Ferguson and went 16-for-32 passing, 162 yards, no TDs and two interceptions.

"Right now it's a day to day basis with Ferg, but if I get the opportunity on Saturday I'm going to be very prepared," Robinson said Tuesday after practice.

The Black Bears are 2-1 and ranked 16th in the national polls. The next opponent is Yale, the final non-conference game of the season.

Harasymiak says he will wait until at least Thursday to make a final call on whether Ferguson can play or not.
