
Bears Fall To Hawks, Eagles Split
The University of Maine baseball team went 12 innings but dropped the finale of their series to Hartford 6-3 while Husson split a Sunday double header.The Black Bears were clinging to a 3-1 lead going into the top of the 8th inning before Hartford came up with 2 runs to ties the game. The two teams could not muster another run until the top of the 12th when the Hawks pushed across 3 with the benefit of just 2 hits. The Bears committed two errors, had a pass ball and walked two in the inning.
Maine drops to 4-7 in America East and 14-20 overall.
Husson University split their double header with Lyndon State by dropping the first game 12-6 and bouncing back to take the series finale 6-3.
In the win, Brandon Reilly went the distance on the mound allowing 8 hits and striking out 3 as the Eagles move to 17-5 in the North Atlantic conference.
