UMaine goalie Jeremy Swayman stopped a career-high 53 shots and his teammates scored three powerplay goals in the second period as the Black Bears knocked off #2 UMass 4-3 Saturday night at Alfond Arena.

The Bears split the two game weekend series and improve to 5-6-3 in Hockey East (9-12-3 overall). UMass is now 11-3 and 19-5.

Maine took advantage on a five minute powerplay in the second period with goals from Alex Binner and Eduards Tralmaks to grab a 3-1 lead.

Another powerplay goal from Brady Keeper made it 4-1 Maine.
