Bears, Warriors Tie 4-4 [VIDEO]
For the second straight night the UMaine hockey team jumped out to a lead only to have Merrimack come back. This time the game ended in a 4-4 overtime tie.
The Black Bears get just one point out of a possible four on the weekend and it looks like the Bears will finish in 11th place in Hockey East.
Cedric Lacroix and Blaine Byron scored first period goals to give Maine a 2-0 lead.
Then penalties made for an interesting second period. Six penalties against the Bears. Six penalties against the Warriors.
Merrimack scored two powerplay goals while Maine scored one. It was 3-2 Bears after two periods.
After the teams traded goals within 14 seconds of each other in the third period, Merrimack's Jace Hennig scored to tie the game at 4-4
Neither team could score in the overtime period.
With two games left on the schedule (vs Northeastern), the Black Bears are 4-14-2 in Hockey East. and 10-18-4 overall.
