Black Bears Picked 8th In Hockey East
The UMaine hockey team has been picked to finish 8th in Hockey East according to the preseason coaches' poll. Boston College is the team to beat after getting eight of 11 first place votes.
Last season UMaine finished 6th and BC finished 7th in HE. The UMass Minutemen won the league title and finished NCAA national runnerup.
The Black Bears return junior goalie Jeremy Swayman and six of ten top scorers from a year ago including Mitch Fossier.
The season opener is October 5th at Providence.
