Two University of Maine softball players were honored with weekly honors by the America East Conference for the team’s success over the past five games.  UMaine baseball also was able to snag a conference Player of the Week Award.


Derrick launched two home runs and had seven runs batted in for the Bears while hitting .556.  She is third on the team in batting with a .281 average for the season and leads the team with nine homers and 24 RBIs.

Maine went 4-1 in the past five games last week and currently sports a 7-1 conference record and 12-18 overall mark.  The Black Bears will play an out-of-conference game on Wednesday afternoon versus Holy Cross before facing UMBC for a three-game set in Maryland starting on Friday.
