The Brewer Witches are Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference (KVAC) Class A baseball champs, beating Oxford Hills 3-1 on Saturday. Skowhegan won the KVAC softball title.

At South Paris:  The KVAC title game matches the top two teams in the Heal Points at the end of the regular season. Oxford Hills finished as the #1 seed (14-2) while Brewer was seeded #2 (13-3).

Alex Brooks pitched the complete game win for the Witches.

The MPA tournament begins next week. Brewer awaits the winner of the #7 Mt. Ararat vs #10 Messalonskee preliminary round game. The Witches will host the winner of that game next Thursday, June 8th, in the quarterfinal round.

Oxford Hills meets either Camden Hills or Lawrence.

At Skowhegan:  The KVAC softball title game was played Friday with Skowhegan beating Edward Little HS 3-2. The Indians finished the season ranked #1 (14-2), EL was #2 (12-4). Both teams await quarterfinal round opponents next Thursday.
