Two weeks after Gabby Price retired as Husson University football coach, the school elevates longtime assistant coach Nat Clark to head coach.

Clark has been at Husson for 12 years, serving as offensive line coach, special teams coordinator and assistant head coach.

He played his high school football at Bangor when Gabby Price was the Rams coach. He played his college football at UMaine under then coach Jack Cosgrove.

Husson athletic director Frank Pergolizzi joked at Monday's press conference that the Clark hiring might have been the worst kept secret in Bangor.

"I've watched Nat for the last six years and he is more than ready for this role. Coach Price agrees with me as he describes Nat as the 'soul' of Husson football. I perfect fit".

Clark takes over a Husson program that is coming off three straight ECFC conference title and NCAA playoff appearances.

The Eagles join the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) this fall. It is an all New England conference that includes teams such as Western New England, Salve Regina and Endicott.

Husson open the 2019 schedule September 14th at UMass Dartmouth.
