UMaine baseball coach Nick Derba will be inducted into his college Hall of Fame later this year, at Manhattan College in New York.

He is one of seven to be inducted in the Jaspers Athletic Hall of Fame in November.

Derba was a three-time All-Conference (MAAC) First Team player at Manhattan as a catcher. He was part of teams that won a total of 121 games. He finished with 212 hits, 26 HRs and 129 RBI.

Derba was drafted in 2007 by the St. Louis Cardinals and spent six seasons in their farm system.

He's been the UMaine head coach for three seasons after serving as an assistant under Steve Trimper.
