Hampden Opens With 67-44 Win [SCORES]

The Hampden Broncos opened defense of their state title with a 67-44 win over Skowhegan Friday night.

Senior guard Nick Gilpin led the Broncos with 22 points. Sophomore Ian McIntrye added 13. Nine players scored points for coach Russ Bartlett's Broncos.

Hampden outscored the Indians 37-18 in the second half, including 19-5 in the third quarter.

Garrett McSweeney and Cameron Barnes each had 12 points for Skowhegan.
