A heartbreaker loss for the UMaine Black Bears in the first Hockey East playoff game vs Northeastern. A 2-1 overtime loss when the Huskies scored on a breakaway goal to end it.

Sophomore Austin Goldstein scored his first goal of the season at 4:15 of overtime.

It forces the Black Bears into a must-win situation tonight in order to keep their season alive.

Most of the game was a battle of top notch goalies. Maine's Jeremy Swayman stopped 30 shots. Northeastern's Cayden Primeau stopped 41 shots.

On top of the that, the Huskies defense blocked 27 shots. The Black Bears blocked 13.

The lone Maine goal came in the secon period by Brady Keeper.

The Bears drop to 15-16-4. The Huskies improve to 24-10-1
