Despite chilly temperatures and a move of their games to the Boucher soccer field, Husson University softball pulled out a sweep of UMaine Farmington in the home opener.

Kayla Merrill and Alannah Healy pitched a combined no-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the first game.

Allie Hill led the offense with 2 hits, 3 rbi and 2 runs scored. The Eagles scored 4 runs in the fourth inning and another 3 in the sixth to end the game with the mercy rule.

Game two of the double-header also ended with the mercy rule in the fifth inning as Husson came away with an 11-3 win.

Hill drove in another 2 runs while Lyndsay Merrill collected 3 hits to help the Eagles improve to 7-7 on the season.

Husson will host Johnson State in a North Atlantic Conference double-header on Saturday.
