The UMaine hockey team ran into the Northeastern Huskies at the wrong time of the season. The Huskies beat the Bears 5-3 to sweep the weekend series and Northeastern now has a nine game unbeaten streak.

Alexis Binner and Mitch Fossier scored first period goals for the Black Bears and Maine led 2-1 after one.

But the Huskies scored the next four goals, two of the them on the powerplay. The Bears took 49 minutes of penalties.

A Nolan Vesey powerplay goal in the final minute brought the Bears closer at 5-3 but that's how it ended.

Maine leaves Boston with a5-6-1 Hockey East record, 11-9-2.

Northeastern moves into first place in Hockey East at 10-3-1, 14-5-3 overall.
