The Husson University Women's Basketball Team opened their 2025-26 season with a 89-74 win over St. Joseph's College at Newman Gymnasium on Saturday, November 15th.

Husson led 24-18 at the end of the 1st Quarter, and 45-35 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles led 61-54 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Husson was led by former Old Town Coyote Saige Evans. She finished with 19 points. Laela Martinez from Bangor had 17 points. Lilly Roy from Wisdom High School had 16 points. Danielle Down (MCI) and Sophia Carnes each had 11 points. Abby Radel from Ellsworth had 7 points.

The Eagles shot 53.3 percent from the floor and were 9-20 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were 16-21 from the free throw line.

St. Joseph's was led by Maddie Russell with 17 points. Madison Lebel had 14 points, while Logan Brown had 12. Layla Facchiano had 11 points.  Former Ellsworth Eagle Lily Bean had 8 points.

The Monks shot 37.8 percent from the floor and were 5-18 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were 13-19 from the free throw line.

St. Joseph's is now 2-2 on the season. They will play at the University of New England on Wednesday, November 19th at 6 p.m.

Husson is 1-0They will play at home against Bates on Tuesday, November 18th at 5:30 p.m.
