The Maine Women's Basketball Team fell to the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) on Friday afternoon, November 28th, losing 64-54. Maine trailed the entire game, but had drawn within 2 points with just 1:16 left to play.

UIC led 16-8 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 34-22 at the end of the 1st Half. Maine drew with 4 points at the end of the 3rd Quarter 45-41 after outscoring UIC 19-11 in the 3rd Quarter.

Maine was led by Asta Blauenfeldt who had 14 points. Adrianna Smith had 12 points before fouling out with just minutes to play.

The Black Bears shot 34.5 percent from the field but were just 3-22 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were 13-17 from the free throw line.

UIC outrebounded Maine 39-33.

Julia Coleman led UIC with 24 points.

UIC shot 43.6 percent from the field, and were 3-7 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were 13-19 from the free throw line.

UIC is now 4-3 while Maine falls to 1-5.

The Black Bears will play St. Francis University on Saturday, November 29th at 12 noon. Maine returns home to host Boston University on Monday, December 1st.
