Maine’s Hall Goes For NCAA National Championship
She is just a freshman at Iowa State but Kate Hall from Casco will attempt to win an NCAA national championship tonight as she competes in the long jump.Hall and her Cyclone teammates will be in Alabama tonight for the first day of the NCAA championships and hall is the 4th seed in the long jump event. Her best jump this season is 21 feet 51/2 inches and believes a mark of 22 feet will be enough to claim the title.
Hall also qualified for the 60 meter sprint but will not compete in that event so she can focus on the long jump.
Last year Hall broke the national record in the long jump for high school girls, a record that stood for 39 years.
Hall is from Casco but competed for Lake Region during her High School career.
