Five UMaine pitchers combined to walk 13 UMiami batters and that spelled trouble as the 'Canes beat the Bears 7-2 in the second game of the series in Coral Gables, Florida.

The two game sweep drops Maine to 6-10. Miami is now 8-9.

The Black Bears could not get anything going against freshman pitcher Greg Veliz. He pitched five shutout innings for his first collegiate win.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes chased Maine starter Chris Murphy in the second inning. He walked seven batters, including a bases loaded walk that scored the first run of the night.

The 'Canes led 5-0 when the Bears scored runs in the 7th and 8th innings. Jonathan Bennett and Jeremy Pena drove in the runs.

Miami added two insurance runs in their 8th inning.

UMaine is finished with its Florida trip. The Bears will play at UMaryland Baltimore County in an America East series over the weekend.
