The Narraguagus Knights pulled away from the Boothbay Seahawks Saturday night in Augusta to claim the school's first-ever state title.

The Knights defeated the Seahawks to claim the Class C crown 33-25 at the Augusta Civic Center behind 20 points from senior center Kelli Kennedy.

Boothbay and Narraguagus traded leads until the Knights buckled down on defense and stymied the bigger Boothbay team midway through in the fourth quarter.

Kennedy led the Knights in scoring. Cassidy Osgood added five points.

Narraguagus advanced to the state finals with a win in the Northern Maine finals over Penobscot Valley. South champ Boothbay advanced with a regional final win over Madison.
