Pedroia Goes Deep In Sox Win
The Red Sox played an all-around solid game that included good pitching, good hitting and good defense in an 8-2 win over the Mariners.Rookie Brandon Workman was impressive in his first career win striking out 9 and allowing just 6 hits and 1 run over 6 innings of work. He also manged to get out of a bases loaded one out jam by getting back-to-back strikeouts to get out of the inning.
Dustin Pedroia led the offense with 2 hits including a homerun and 3 rbi. Jacoby Ellsbury and Jarrod Saltalamacchia also hit homeruns to back an errorless perfornance by the defense.
