Pomeroy Three Hits, Hawks Stay Unbeaten
The Hermon Hawks battled the Brewer Witches and Mother Nature to score their 13th straight win. Keith Pomeroy had three hits to lead the offensive attack.
The Brewer home game was moved to the turf of Mahaney Diamond in Orono and even that could not stop a 50-minute rain/thunder/lightning delay.
With the score tied 1-1 after two innings and the delay, the top ranked Hawks outscored the Witches 6-0 the rest of the way.
Senior Keith Pomeroy had a single, double and triple along the way. He had an RBI and scored a run.
The Hawks team speed came into play with four steals on the night. The Witches did throw out a Hawk trying to steal and that's the first caught stealing for Hermon all year. The Hawks are now 88-of-89 in the stolen base stat.
Garrett Trask picked up his fourth win of the spring pitching the first five innings.
Andrew Kiley had two of the four Brewer hits. Anthony Chiappone took the loss on the hill.
Hermon improves to 13-0. Brewer drops to 8-4.
