Quick Will Start For Team USA

Former UMaine goalie and now Detroit Red Wing Jimmy Howard will likely not suit up for the Olympic opener Thursday morning. Jonathan Quick has been named the starter and Ryan Miller is expected to be the backup.

Quick is the goalie for the LA Kings and a former UMass college player.

Ryan Miller is the Buffalo Sabres goalie.

Howard has been battling knee injuries throughout the NHL season but says he is ready to play when needed.
