The University of Maine Field Hockey team announced its 2016 recruiting class today via a release.  Three of the players will come from Canada, two from Maine, and one from Australia.

"We are proud to welcome our 2016 incoming class to Black Bear Nation. We believe the versatility and talent of these players will give our team the flexibility and depth to build upon the success of our previous season. Their skill and experience will positively impact our program immediately. We are excited to have them join our returning players and we look forward to the season," said Head Coach Josette Babineau.

The three Maine recruit include Lilla Tilton-Flood of Clinton and Riley Field of Sidney.  Tilton-Flood played her high school field hockey at Lawrence High School and was the captain during her senior season.  She scored nine goals and had 13 assists.  Field played for Messalonskee High School and was the team's captain for the past two years.  She helped guide Messalonskee to a 2016 State Championship and was a Miss Maine nominee in 2015.

UMaine had a record season with a 19-4 record a season ago and a 7-1 conference record.
