One of UMaine football's FBS games has been cancelled, according Director of Athletics Karlton Creech in a statement released by the school on Thursday.

"The University of Maine understands and respects the decisions of Central Florida and the American Athletic Conference and their need to prioritize conference games," said Creech in a statement posted online.

An official from UMaine did not know if the Black Bears would still receive payment for the game with UCF at this time.

The Black Bears are currently on a bye week before returning to CAA play on September 23rd when they travel to face the James Madison Dukes.  Maine is currently 1-1 on the season and are coming off a win last time out in the home opener versus Bryant.  The Black Bears will have a FBS contest on November 11th versus former CAA foe UMass at Fenway Park.
