USM #2 Seed NCAA Regional

The good news for USM baseball is the fact that the Huskies are #2 seed at the NCAA Regional. The bad news is top hitter Forrest Chadwick may not be able to play because of a quad injury.

Chadwick, the USM senior centerfielder from Gardiner HS, suffered the injury in the championship game of the LEC tournament over the weekend. Coach Ed Flaherty says Chadwick's availability is a day-to-day situation. He is batting .321 with 5 home runs and 44 RBI.

The Huskies (31-12) are the #2 seed in the 8-team field in Harwich, Massachusetts. The winner goes to the Division-3 College World Series in Wisconsin.

Last year, USM was national runner-up and set a school record for wins with 46.
