UMaine's Aaron Calixte hit two free throws with 4.9 seconds left to get the Black Bears an upset win over top ranked Albany 81-79.

The victory at the Cross Center in Bangor puts Maine at 2-2 in America East play (6-11 overall). They stop the Great Danes six game winning streak and drops Albany to 3-1 AE (14-5 overall).

It goes down as the best win in new coach Bob Walsh' tenure at Maine.

The Black Bears got a boost with the return of freshman Issac Vann who came off the bench to lead in scoring with 19 points in 25 minutes. Vann had been out a month with a foot injury.

Calixte and Kevin Little each scored 16 for Maine.

Peter Hooley had 29 for the Great Danes.

NOTE:  The UMaine women's team is at Albany tomorrow afternoon for the big battle for America East first place. Both teams are unbeaten in conference play and have been ranked in the mid-majors national polls.
