Maine's Shawn Warren played better golf in day two of the Tour qualifier in Texas but at the halfway mark of the tournament he is way down on the leaderboard.

Warren is a former Windham HS golfer and the reigning New England PGA player of the year. He's trying to earn a players card for next year's Tour which is considered the launching tour for the PGA.

Warren shot a 1-over 73 on Wednesday after shooting a 78 in round one. The 151 total puts him down in the 70's on the leaderboard. He doesn't have to win the event but does need to finish in the top-25.

There are two more days of competition in this qualifier in Texas.
