WEEK 1: Cast Your Vote For High School Athlete of the Week [VOTE]

It's time to vote in week #1 in the 2019-20 sports season for High School Student Athlete of the Week. Opening week brings four outstanding candidates for you to consider. You may cast your vote at the bottom of the post.

Bangor junior running back Jonny Lyon was a big factor in the Rams 42-21 win over Brewer in Friday night's season opener. He rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns in what was a diversified offense for Bangor.

Bangor Christian HS junior Brady Reed scored three goals and had three assists in the Patriots 9-0 win over Deer Isle-Stonington last week.

Penobscot Valley High School senior Lexi Ireland scored two goals in the Howlers opening game 4-1 win over Schenck. Ireland now has scored 87 goals in her PVHS career, surpassing the record held by Amy Hallett. She is on track to become the first 100 goal scorer in school history.

Hermon HS sophomore golfer Logan Scripture was medalist twice and co-medalist once in the Hawks three matches last week. Scripture fired a 37 at Pine Hill GC in Brewer, a 38 at Hermon Meadows GC in his two wins. He shot a 43 at Lucerne GC to co-medal.

Voting is open through Thursday at noon. The winner will be announced during the Dale Duff Show at 3 p.m. Thursday on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
