WEEK 7: Who Is the High School Athlete of the Week? [VOTE]
Week #7 in the fall high school sports season and more outstanding performances to note. Check them out and vote for your Athlete of the Week...
Bangor HS RB Joey Morrison: The Rams won their third consecutive game, beating Sanford 24-12 Friday night. Sophomore RB/DB Morrison one of the key players. He rushed 31 times for 119 yards and was in on several tackles on defense. Morrison now has three straight games of 100+ yards rushing.
Hermon HS Soccer Forward Sydney Gallop: The sophomore is helping the Hawks to an undefeated season and #1 seeding. Last week Gallop scored two goals vs Presque Isle, three vs Elllsworth and three more vs MDI. She now has 29 goals on the season.
John Bapst HS WR/DB Rhett McDonald: The senior was a special teams stalwart for the Crusaders in Friday's 7-6 win over Houlton. McDonald was first in off the edge on a Houlton PAT attempt to tie the game early in the fourth quarter. With 16 seconds left, he came off the edge again to block a field goal try to win for the Shiretowners. The Crusaders won for a fifth time this season.
MDI HS Senior Daisy Granholm: It's one thing to break a school single-season record. But breaking the record held by your mother? Yup. Daisy Granholm scored a hat trick vs Foxcroft last week giving her 38 goals for the season. Her mother held the record with 36.
Hermon HS XC Dylan Fowler: Hawks cross country runner Dyland Fowler won the PVC Class B boys title at the conference meet in Searsport. His time was 18:30.17. The Hermon boys team place third and will compete in the North Regional championships this Saturday.
